Research conducted by the University of Leeds Beckett evaluated the acute impact of The Daily Mile on children’s maths fluency and executive function, and explored the amount of moderate-to-vigorous- physical activity (MVPA) children achieve whilst doing The Daily Mile (303 children from 11 primary schools).

Results revealed significant improvement in the children’s maths fluency after completing The Daily Mile, when compared to the control group. No significant results for executive function were found. The study concluded that The Daily Mile provides children with 10-minutes of MVPA, achieving a third of daily in-school recommendations from Chief Medical Officers.
