Back To School Resources

It’s clear that, while most children will be happy to return to school and eager to see their friends and teachers again, many will be returning with poorer physical and mental health. The Daily Mile can help schools to rebuild their children’s fitness and improve their emotional and mental health – all outdoors in the fresh air.

The Daily Mile Challenge Badges

Children enjoy a challenge and love being outside with their friends, so why not give them extra motivation to take part in The Daily Mile and choose from one of our new The Daily Mile Challenge Badges. There’s a challenge that’s just right for everyone, whether you want to take part as a whole school, a year group, a class or even set a challenge for individual children to complete.

Why not run from London to Edinburgh? Or cover the length of the River Thames in London?

Or head overseas to the River Danube in central Europe or complete the famous Camino de Santiago in Spain?

Are you willing to take on our biggest challenge, running from London to Sydney?

Just follow these simple steps to start a challenge in your school:

  1. Click on the links below and choose your challenge.
  2. Print off a poster, look at a map of the route and tell your children all about their challenge. Use the badge on your school newsletter or your website to tell parents or add it to a display in class.
  3. Do The Daily Mile – 15 minutes of running, jogging or wheeling counts as ‘1 mile’ – and start to work towards your distance. You decide how you record the miles your children complete – keep it simple.
  4. When you have completed the challenge, there’s a certificate to give to everyone who took part.

Now it’s time to choose your new challenge and don’t forget to share your challenges on social media using #DailyMile
