Having just completed a PhD in Physical Activity, using behaviour change methodologies to guide intervention implementation and sustainability in schools, I’m very excited to take on a new role with GreaterSport and The Daily Mile! I aim to use these skills to motivate and encourage greater uptake of schools across Greater Manchester.

Having recently got into running myself after undertaking the couch to 5k I am especially interested in how physical activity can transform not just your physical health but also your mental health and mood as well as bringing you into contact with new people and opportunities.

I have a degree in Sport and Exercise development from the University of Sunderland, play a number of sports - including football, cricket, athletics, golf... - and coached several junior sporting teams. I also enjoy physical activity challenges, such as the Great North Swim, parkrun and the 24hr Three Peaks Challenge. I am really looking forward to promoting The Daily Mile!

I have been involved in physical activity my whole life and have reaped its benefits both physically and mentally. The Daily Mile allows young people to feel these benefits and therefore makes me passionate in encouraging schools to get involved.
