“Get ready for the first-ever Daily Mile Santa Run!” A message from Elaine Wyllie, Founder of The Daily Mile
Get Ready for the First-Ever Daily Mile Santa Run!
I’m Elaine Wyllie, Founder of The Daily Mile, and I’m delighted to share that we’re hosting our inaugural Daily Mile Santa Run. This UK and Ireland-wide event brings outdoor joy, movement, and festive spirit to schools and early years settings across the country as part of your lovely celebrations.
On Friday 6th December, children (and staff!) from all over the UK and Ireland will join in the first-ever Daily Mile Santa Run – a special day dedicated to promoting physical activity and mental wellbeing. I can’t wait to see the fun, creativity and energy that each of your settings will bring to this event. And if you haven’t heard about it until now, there’s still time to join in the celebration!
Here’s how your school or Early Years Settings can get involved:
- Run, wheel or walk your Daily Mile at any time during the day on Friday 6th December.
- Add festive cheer with our special Santa Run resources. We’ve created free downloadable materials, including a letter from Santa, fun activity ideas, and decorations to make the day extra magical.
- Share the joy! We’d love to see photos and videos of your children enjoying their Santa Run – please send them to us at team@thedailymile.co.uk or on social media using @_thedailymile so we can celebrate together.
And while schools and Early Years Settings across the UK are joining in the fun, we’ll also be hosting celebration events in Manchester with The Manchester United Foundation, Scotland with Motherwell FC, and with Run Wales & Welsh Athletics at Brynmenyn Primary School.
Thank you all for being part of The Daily Mile journey. Together, let’s make this first Daily Mile Santa Run a truly unforgettable day full of smiles, laughter, and a little holiday magic for all!
Warm wishes,
Elaine Wyllie MBE
